Enjoy a wonderful cycling holiday in Hamburg with its mix of maritime city flair and rural idyll of the surrounding countryside. After all, the metropolis located south of the Elbe is a true El Dorado for cyclists. You can explore the environs of Hamburg, flexibly and individually, with your own bike or you can take advantage of our Auszeit Hotel bike rentals. If you want your ride to be a little more care-free, we also offer Auszeit e-bikes as well as the Elbe cycling bus or the free Regional Park shuttle service.
The Regional Park Rosengarten, Northern Europe's largest fruit-growing area "Altes Land" and the Fischbeker Heide offer perfect conditions for longer tours on well-marked paths. Mountain bikers also get their money's worth south of Hamburg. You start your trip from the hotel, and ride through beautiful landscapes and diverse natural and cultural treasures until you finally catch sight of the Elbe. Magnificent fruit orchards invite you to linger and shop. And, if you like, you can simply take the ferry to the beer gardens in Blankenese, to round out your tour.

Starting from our Auszeit Hotel, explore the "Altes Land" by bike. The Altes Land is northern Europe's largest contiguous fruit-growing area. Over 100 km of main and tributary dykes provide an ideal setting for an unforgettable biking tour. Along the well-maintained and marked cycling paths, you pass beautiful half-timbered houses and lush orchards. Numerous farm cafés and farm shops invite you to take a relaxing break. The centre of the Altes Land is the small village of Jork. Enjoy many interesting and entertaining activities in Jork, especially during the fruit blossom in spring and the apple harvest in September.
In the Rosengarten Regional Park, you will not only find the open-air museum Kiekeberg and the Schwarze Berge Game Park; the park also offers wonderful cycling tours in green on numerous well-signposted routes. However, a visit to the open-air museum and the game park is highly recommended. The Regional Park Shuttle runs from July to October from the Neugraben S-Bahn station, which is only five minutes away from the Auszeit Hotel. It takes you safely and comfortably to all the area highlights. A total of 27 stops are served, with space for 14 bicycles on the bicycle trailer.
Hamburg is a wonderful city for cycling. You will find a wide range of interesting opportunities for extended cycling tours, even directly in the city centre. For example, you can follow Veloroute 10 from Neugraben to Hafencity or explore Veloroute 11, which leads from Hamburg Technical University towards the Old Elbe Tunnel. There are more wonderful leisure routes waiting for your discovery, directly in the centre of Hamburg. In order to always stay on the right path, use the corresponding GPS trackers for your mobile phone for each route. This way, you can pedal along without a care in the world!
